  • Argumentum ad Teleological

“Our experience-based knowledge of information-flow confirms that systems

with large amounts of specified complexity (especially codes and languages)

invariably originate from an intelligent source, from a mind or personal agent."

Steve C. Meyer, "The origin of biological information and the higher taxonomic categories."

Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington, Vol. 117(2):213-239 (2004)

The positive evidence of brilliant design cannot be ignored. As Karl Popper pointed out clearly:

"What makes the origin of life and of the genetic code a disturbing riddle is this: the genetic code is without any biological function unless it is translated."

“Thus, the code cannot be translated except by using certain products of its translation. This constitutes a really baffling circle: a vicious circle for any attempt to form a model, or a theory, of the genesis of the genetic code."

(Popper, Karl R., [Emeritus Professor of Philosophy, University of London], "Scientific Reduction and the Essential Incompleteness of All Science," in "Studies in the Philosophy of Biology," Macmillan: London, 1974, pp.259-284, p.270. Emphasis original).

"Intelligent design has applied scientific methods to detect design in irreducibly complex biological structures, the complex and specified information content in DNA, the life-sustaining physical architecture of the universe, and the geologically rapid origin of biological diversity in the fossil record during the Cambrian explosion approximately 530 million years ago."
